Overview: What Is Injective (INJ)?

Injective is a blockchain platform and protocol built with Cosmos blockchain technology to create a decentralized financial ecosystem, provide financial services, and offer cross-chain trading. Injective has a cryptocurrency exchange and supports the creation of DApps. Its native cryptocurrency is Injective (INJ).

Injective was created by Eric Chen and Albert Chin, with INJ hitting the markets via the Binance Launchpad in October 2020. The protocol’s investors include Binance, Jump Crypto, Pantera Capital, and Mark Cuban.

What Makes the Injective Coin Unique?

In contrast to competitors like Uniswap, the Injective decentralized exchange (DEX) doesn’t use an automated market maker (AMM) to manage liquidity but uses the more traditional order book model. There are no gas fees for transactions on the Injective exchange. Instead, traders pay market maker and taker fees using Injective.

The exchange is a layer-1 decentralized exchange for cross-chain margin trading, derivatives, and forex futures trading. Web3 applications and DApps can be built on Injective’s layer-1 blockchain.

Injective has a layer-2 application on the Cosmos blockchain, which uses Cosmos cross-chain bridges. This enables users to access cryptocurrencies from other platforms, including Ethereum and Polkadot. Inter-blockchain communication (IBC) allows different blockchains to exchange assets directly, enabling interaction and interoperability whilst securing transactions and improving the user experience.

What Is Injective (INJ) Used for?

Injective (INJ) is a traded cryptocurrency asset. It’s used to pay fees on the Injective decentralized exchange and the Injective platform’s governance token. As Injective is a proof-of-stake protocol, INJ can also be staked.

Injective holders can earn rewards for staking to validate and secure the network and vote on changes to the Injective Protocol and platform. There are also “Relayer Incentives” paid in INJ for participants who originate exchange orders, which can be up to 40% of trading fees. The remaining 60% of fees are burned, deflating the supply of INJ, which can increase INJ’s price. 60% of fees generated by Injective dApps are auctioned weekly through the Injective buyback and burn mechanism.

How Does Injective Work?

As well as being an exchange and accessible to developers, Injective has its “Injective Hub,” where users can stake INJ to become network validators or delegate tokens to network validators. Injective holders can also propose and vote on initiatives for the future of Injective, including platform functionality and governance in the platform’s decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) framework.

How Is the Injective (INJ) Network Secured?

The Injective platform and network are secured by Cosmos technology and a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, which allows INJ holders to stake INJ and participate in validating transactions and securing the network. Injective uses a DAO framework for community management where INJ holders can propose and vote on Injective initiatives and future developments.

How Is the Price of Injective Determined?

INJ price is primarily influenced by supply and demand. It’s also affected by activity and patronage of the Injective exchange and platform.

The following factors can influence INJ price:

  • Supply, demand, and scarcity
  • INJ’s exchange fee burn and deflating supply.
  • INJs are used as collateral backing for derivatives.
  • Liquidity
  • INJ market sentiment
  • Wider cryptocurrency market sentiment
  • Injective platform performance and use
  • Competing cryptocurrencies and blockchains

What Is the Injective (INJ) Coin Price Prediction for 2030?

Although it’s difficult to predict the future and price of any cryptocurrency, there are INJ price predictions for 2030.

Binance predicts that the INJ price could reach $23.82 by 2030. In comparison, CoinCodex predicts INJ price may range between $40.40 and $51.24. Other Injective coin price predictions for 2030 also vary.

Where Can You Buy Injective?

Injective  can be purchased on the Injective DEX. INJ is also widely traded and available on cryptocurrency exchanges, including Coinbase, Binance, KuCoin, and Kraken.

How Can You Store Injective (INJ)?

Injective can be stored in compatible hot or online wallets. The least secure way to store INJ is on a cryptocurrency exchange. In contrast, the safest place for long-term Injective (INJ) balances is a compatible hardware wallet device or comparable cold storage.
